The
ADW header is extruded in one continuous piece.
The
significant difference in wall thickness as well as the continuous extrusion
is why Sierra can offer a lifetime warranty against defects on the structure
of their header.
The competitor's
headers are often fabricated in multiple pieces.
This particular header
is extruded in three pieces.
The
ADW motor is USA made by Bodine Electric. It runs on AC voltage and is designed
to dissipate heat more efficiently than the competitor.
The
finned design provides the better heat dissipation as overheating is the
number one cause of motor failure. The Sierra motor is designed to carry
very heavy doors.

Sierra
gears are all metal with no plastic parts.
Sierra
doors are welded to prevent mechanical fasteners from working loose over
time.
When
mechanical fasteners fail, such as this one, it causes the doors to sag
and places undue stress on the operator.
